Love when it is Hard

Malachi 1

I pray blessings on you as you read.

(v. 2) "I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us?..."

My Thoughts

God wasn't happy with the Israelites and He had quite a bit to say to them. He started by reminding them that He loves them. God always puts His love for us first. He doesn't do anything with malice, our God is love.

We need to remember to do the same. Always love first. When you are unhappy, sad, angry, disappointed, etcetera at someone, don't lash out at them. You may need to vent your anger or sadness a little bit before you can calmly talk to them, so maybe try typing out, or writing out how you feel first, and then go to the person afterward. If you are a parent and the person is your child, remember to discipline with love. Remind your child that you love them, as God reminded the Israelites, and tell them that there are consequences for what they did wrong, but stress the fact that you love them.

We usually easily remember the good things about our friends and family. There are always going to be bad times, but we don't often remember them, at least not to the point of holding a grudge. That's what we need to do. Remember the good times, remember that we love them and not hold grudges against those whom we love.

Prayer Time

Now you talk to God about what you read, and you can even read this chapter of the Bible for yourself before you do. Thanks for reading, Godbless!
