Daily Bible Reading #2 - God Can Always Use You

God Can Always Use You

2 Chronicles 34

I pray blessings on you as you read.

(v. 3) "For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year, he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images."

My Thoughts

King Josiah was only 8 years old when he became king. As mentioned from the verse above, he was very young when he started seeking after God. He would've been about 16 years old. 4 years later, Josiah started to purge the lands of all things that were displeasing to God. He was 20 years old when he started this endeavor of bringing the people back to the Lord. In year 18 of his reign as king, when Josiah was about 26 years old, he began to work on repairing the temple of God.

Josiah did great things for God before the age of 21, and even more before the age of 30. It's also pretty amazing that he became king at the age of 8! Can you imagine that? An 8 year old boy in charge of running a country! Pretty mind-blowing! God had great plans for Josiah, and those plans were fulfilled. Josiah was obedient to God and he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Everyone is important to God and important to His work here on Earth. Young or old, rich or poor, sick or healthy. There isn't a single person that does not matter to God or that He can't use to accomplish great things. God does not call those who are qualified to do His work, instead, He qualifies those He calls. You are important to God and He can use you in amazing ways too. He may already whether you realize it or not. It's not always going to be a big noticeable thing, but that doesn't mean it isn't significant. Even the things that seem small to you or to certain other people. Those 'small' things are pretty big in God's eyes, and usually pretty big in the eyes of those it affects. Keep your ears open to listen to God and what He wants you to do, and keep your eyes open to see this and to see when He is using you.

Now you talk to God about what you read, and you can even read this chapter of the Bible for yourself before you do. Godbless!
